Personal Theory of learning
Learning is affected by a myriad of factors. The learner is initially surrounded by personal factors for learning - such as interest, confidence, and the relevance of the topic. Outside of the student's internal factors is a layer of "noise" or barriers to learning. These are factors that prevent the external and internal factors of learning from interacting and optimizing the learning process. The final layer of learning is the external factors which are determined by the learning environment and instructional methods employed.
The goal of any learning is to overcome the noise so that the internal and external factors of instruction can work in tandem for optimal learning. Of course, learning can occur when these are separated by the barriers and in the real world there is never a situation where all of the barriers will be eliminated, but optimal earning occurs when the external factors align with the internal factors and create bridges that help overcome the barriers preventing learning to the best extent possible.
